Call for Speakers

We’re excited to be opening up the call for speakers proposal for WordCamp Birmingham 2010!

We are currently planning for several 30-45 minute presentations, though we are also open to folks that may be interested in doing more TED-inspired 10-18 minute talks.

Here are some of the topics that people who completed our survey expressed an interest in learning about:

  • Intro to WordPress 3.0 workshop
  • BuddyPress overviews
  • Development of child themes
  • Content creation
  • Website design (including typography, branding)
  • WordPress as a vehicle/tool for starting a business
  • How to  run a hyperlocal/community news site
  • Security
  • Plugin development
  • How to use/implement custom post types
  • Becoming a core contributor
